Guests at the ryokan-hotel 'Mount View Hakone' dine on amazing dinners that change constantly, offering seasonal favorites. Both dinner and breakfast consist of a wonderful selection of Japanese foods that feature locally grown products. There is even a meal plan that caters to vegetarians. The staff is very foreigner-friendly, and from 8:30am to 9:00pm there is always someone who can assist in English and Chinese.

Dining at the 'Mount View Hakone'
Delicious meals at a lovely ryokan-hotel in Sengokuhara

There was a large variety of foods to enjoy.

Our dinner was served at a regular table with chairs.
The pork shabu shabu melted in our mouths.
Guests grill vegetables and tender slices of Japanese beef on their own tiny hot plate.
For tofu fans, the yuba was especially delicious.
All of the dishes were small, but there were so many of them.
By the time the rice, miso soup, and soba noodles came, we were already stuffed!
Breakfast was also impressive. This was only the center 'basket', many other items were also served.
