“Ryuzu-no-taki Falls” gets its name from the fact that the falls look like a dragon’s head when you see it looking up from near the basin of the falls. The two sides of the falls are whiskers and the rock between them is the head of a dragon. The falls come down gently from the Yukawa River for 210 meters on lava that flowed out of Mt. Nantai 20,000 years ago. The best seasons are early summer when it is adorned with pink azaleas, and autumn with its gorgeously decorated colorful leaves.

Kanman-ga-fuchi, Saino-ko Lake, and Kisuge-daira are also beautiful green places near here, James.
